Mole Rats In Space at Snakes and Lattes, Meeting Matt Leacock and So Many Other Great Designers

Went to an amazing event last night at Snakes and Lattes (College). They hosted a game night for the new game Mole Rats in Space by Matt Leacock (designer of Pandemic) , Forbidden Desert, Forbidden Island, Chariot Race, Knit Wit, and of course Pandemic Legacy.

We got to meet Matt Leacock and were thrilled to have him teach us the game (we played it 3 times, lost 2, won 1)!

Moles Rats in Space

Moles Rats in Space is a quick, easy to learn game with cute art, great looking components, challenging gameplay that stresses the need for cooperative play and planning for kids ages 7+. I really enjoyed the game and think it will appeal to a lot of young kids and parents (probably best for tweens).

Great little mole rat figures in Mole Rats in Space! They have a backpack to carry the different tokens they have to pick up to win the game

Moles Rats have sharp teeth! And good hygiene is important so the Mole Rats in Space have to grab some toothbrushes for escaping the station.

Cute art, fun gameplay, challenging, planning skills & fairly simple rules. Mole Rats in Space is a great cooperative game for kids ages 7+

I have had it with these Mole-Fighting Snakes on this Mole-Flying research station!

Because The Gathering of Friends is starting soon, there were quite a few board gamers and designers in the city as a waystation as they travel to The Gathering. We got to meet some amazing, interesting people and some of the biggest game designers in world.

From left to right: Ignacy Trzewiczek (designer of 51st State, Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island, Imperial Settlers and many more), Eric Lang (the brilliant mind behind a huge list of massively popular games, just a few of which are Blood Rage, A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, Bloodborne: The Card Game, the Kickstarter sensation Rising Sun, me (surrounded by awesome and about to munched on by a Mole Rat), Matt Leacock (designer of Pandemic, Forbidden Desert, Forbidden Island, Chariot Race, Knit Wit, and of course Pandemic Legacy, Daryl Andrews (designer of Sagrada, Fantasy Fantasy Football, Space Invaders Dice!, Emblems: NHL and many more), Stephen Sauer (designer of upcoming release: Purrrlock Holmes: Furriarty's Trail) and Chris Chung (designer of Lanterns: The Harvest Festival)

We also got to playtest a new game by Chris Chung (designer of Lanterns: The Harvest Festival) and a few games different games by Stephen Sauer (designer of the up-coming Purrrlock Holmes: Furriarty's Trail).

While we there we also saw so many Geeky Goodies T-shirts all in one place that I had to take a photo! Great night of gaming and so many great people!

Lots of Geeky Goodies T-shirts! Chris Chung, Mike, David Kingsmill and me.
